Clutter in our lives.

Clutter. It has a way of slowing us down when we get ahead of our selves. We all experience clutter in one form or another. For some it's typical clutter.Clutter that accumilates in our homes of the junk nature.Just stuff we don't use any more. But,it's not trash either.Mine is books,Christmas decorations, movies, and sewing supplies.Every spring I go through my clutter and thin it out.So are our bodies and our health. We get busy taking care of others and we get busy with daily life.Busy(clutter).Our health becomes compromised by unhealthy eating habits and by lack of activity( clutter).Just like the clutter in our homes our bodies aren't something we can toss out and start with a new body.Wouldn't that be just to easy!Junk ( clutter) food trashes our health one bite at a time. Before you know it your not 20 anymore and your not healthy or happy with your selves or your bodies. We  don't have the luxury of turning back the clock and getting a do over.We only get one body. What kind of clutter is in your life affecting your body and your health and happiness?Food marketing of the years has become very aggressive towards  consumers.Buy this beer and you'll get that hot chick or eat this miracle cure pill and you'll be young, thin, and healthy or use this shampoo and your hair will be shiny, not frizzy, and all your split ends gone!  Get a grip advertisers!
What we  need is a long hard look at the trut5h about our life styles and our eating habits. If your like me and have in the past lived on junk food and been a total couch potato then like myself you have allowed the junk ( clutter) over whelm your lives and your body and your health. And make no mistake it's not for wimps or someone looking for an easy do over!Regaining your health, lives, and bodies is hard work. But if you really want it enough and aren't afraid of hard work it can be reclaimed!Walking at a moderate comfortable pace burns calories, tones muscles and improves mental out look. Here's a tip,buy an enexspenive pedometer .You'll quickly get addicted to walking by challenging yourself to raise you walking goals and add steps or distance every week.Pedometer's can be all different prices ranging from free inside a box of cereal or upwards to 50 $.What ever kind you choose you'll be amazed how something seemingly so small can make ahuge difference.

Calories and Weight
A pound of fat equals 3500 calories. To lose 1 pound a week you will need to expend 3500 more calories than you eat that week, whether through increased activity or decreased eating or both. Losing 1-2 pounds of fat a week is a sensible goal, and so you will want to use the combination of increased activity and eating less that will total 3500 calories for 7 days.
How You Burn Calories
Your weight x distance = energy used walking. Time does not matter as much as distance. If you speed up to walking a mile in 13 minutes or less, you will be burning more calories per mile. But for most beginning walkers, it is best to increase the distance before working on speed. A simple rule of thumb is 100 calories per mile for a 180 pound person.

Note About the Calories Chart
You burn more calories per mile at very low speeds because you are basically stopping and starting with each step and your momentum isn't helping to carry you along. Meanwhile, at very high walking speeds you are using more muscle groups with arm motion and with a racewalking stride. Those extra muscles burn up extra calories with each step. Running may burn more calories per mile as there is an up and down motion lifting your weight off the ground as well as moving it forward.
